Methodology
This is a full-year estimate for one employer and employment income only. It uses 2026 federal brackets, the basic personal amount (including the high-income phase-out), and the Canada employment amount. Provincial and territorial brackets and basic amounts come from the CRA payroll formulas, except Quebec brackets, which come from Revenu Québec. The first-bracket rate is used for non-refundable credits.
Employee CPP or QPP is split into a base portion (a tax credit) and additional portions (deducted in the taxable-income estimate). CPP2 or the second additional QPP is deducted the same way. EI uses the Quebec rate and the QPIP premium when the province is Quebec. Quebec federal tax is reduced by the 16.5% abatement, and Quebec taxable income is reduced by the deduction for workers.
Ontario includes the surtax, the health premium, and the basic tax reduction without dependant amounts. British Columbia includes the 2026 tax-year reduction of $690, not the prorated withholding amounts. Yukon includes the territorial employment amount. Take-home pay is annual employment income minus tax, employee payroll deductions, and any RRSP contribution you enter.
The estimate does not include a spouse or dependant amount, tuition, donations, union dues, the Canada workers benefit, the GST/HST credit, northern residency, or self-employed contributions. Biweekly results use 26 pays. A calendar year can have 27. Mid-year withholding in British Columbia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island can differ from this tax-year estimate because employers use prorated rates for part of the year.
TODO-verify: Manitoba's individuals tax-rates page lists thresholds of $47,564 and $101,200. T4127 for January and July 2026 lists $47,000 and $100,000 and says those thresholds are not indexed. Manitoba results use T4127.
Worked example
Employment income of $75,000.00 in Ontario, with CPP or QPP and EI turned on and no RRSP contribution, produces estimated biweekly take-home pay of $2,189.45. Annual federal tax is $8,258.60 and Ontario income tax is $3,696.06. The Ontario health premium in this example is $750.00.
